Bella Rustica Vintage Marketplace

Wow! So much has happened since the last post I am really not sure where to start!! So... I will just start with one of the latest and most exciting things that has happened to us lately. We were invited to be in our first ever barn sale at The Milky Way Farms in Pulaski, Tn. It was Bella Rustica. It was a vintage market place. To be a vendor you had to have at least 90% of your items to be vintage or repurposed items. Now, that’s my kind of show!!  Be sure and check out their site also!

What an entrance!
We went and what a great show it was!! First, it was a fundraiser for a great organization called AGAPE. I have to admit, I had no idea what it was until this show and feel so many others probably do not either. It is an adoption organization with great values! The people at the show were all volunteers from Agape and they were all so nice and helpful! Be sure and check them out! You will not be sad you did.

2nd, it was beautiful there! This farm was wonderful with lots of old barns and a beautiful manor house (that I now wish I would have checked out more) and a wonderful old stone barn where the show was held! This farm was started by the Mars family, as in the Milky Way/Mars candy bar people. I had no idea this beautiful place was nearby! You should check them out! Click the link to see the farm.

We met so many wonderful people at this show and made some awesome connections! Everyone was so nice and happy to be there! Amazing how much nicer everyone is when they are doing a job they love and choose to do everyday!! We had a great show! Like I said before, this was our very first barn show! It really was our very first “real” show. We practically SOLD OUT!!

Seriously?

Seriously!!

We were beyond excited! I mean, we love our stuff but it is so wonderful to know that others do also!!

The next exciting thing about the show was that the main speaker for the show was none other than Funky Junk Donna from Funky Junk Interiors. If you have never read her blog, you are truly missing out!!  She has a wonderful blog with lots of great Junky ideas! Now, you know she must be special if they flew her down south from Canada!

                                                            Canada, people!

She was very nice and so sweet. Be sure and check out her website. She has been sharing lots from her Bella Rustica experience. It is great to meet the people you read about in the blog world. She did several workshops while she was there and did some other cool stuff with with some other blog ladies. Very cool!! Be sure and check her stuff out.

We met so many people and I am pretty sure there was about 5,000 people that came through the barn over the weekend. Everyone was so nice and complimentary! By the end of the show our stall was pretty bare but that did not stop the buying! We had a few pieces left (not many). We had to deliver a few pieces to Franklin on Monday. One of the ladies who we had to deliver to owns the cutest shop in Downtown Franklin called Kaleidoscope. She hopped right into our trailer and bought some more!! We ended up bringing 4 pieces of furniture home and a few small items! WOW!!! I had no idea that we would come back with nothing!! I mean, that is the goal but who really expects to come back with little to nothing!! Not me. I am certainly not complaining!!

Not only that,  there were so many wonderful vendors!! Their music was awesome, loved The Secret Sisters Band, the food was delicious- Lowrie’s BBQ  really hit the spot, and there was fun for everyone! I am going to link up some of the vendors for you all to check out.

I have to admit, I had a few favorites of my own! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED Vintage Junky. This girl is my soul sister for sure! She has the cutest stuff and a cute little camper named Hazel to boot! Her husband is super talented also! He has his own business where he does chalkboard art! I did not buy much at this show (not enough time to shop, although I could have taken soooooooo much home for sure!) but the one big purchase I made was this awesome custom chalk art from CJ that is PERFECT for our quirky little home! I fell in love and it is perfect for our house. It now hangs proudly in our living room/dining room! AWESOME!!! Awesome! Awesome! I am smitten for sure. I look forward to working with them on some letterpress items in the future! I think it would be so much fun!!

The next person I really enjoyed meeting was Christy from The Strawberry Patch. She has THE most adorable upholstered chairs and the cutest furniture! We are working with her on some letterpress coasters for her business and we will be setting up at her barn sale in the spring. Yes, you heard me, she has her own barn sale in Hartsville, Tn in the spring and fall! I cannot wait to do her show! So excited about this one! Be sure and check her out!

Some of the other vendors we fell in love with were Three French Hens (absolutely adorable!), JunkJo’s secondhand cottage, Autumn Lynn Photography -another soul sister for sure,  River City Candle Company -so, so sweet and a great neighbor! Also, Alicia Raney's Vintage Art and Sara Rausch at Ksarahsarah were wonderful! There are so many more, I will have to have another post just about that! I am so excited to share all this wonderful talent with you I don’t even know where to begin!! Here is a complete list of the vendors. Please go and check out each one and tell them I sent you! I would really appreciate it and so would they!

I do have to tell you about one other vendor today though, Vintage Shabby Chicks- these ladies and I have been in contact so many times before the show! I buy my paint from them even though they are in Nashville. They have had the best customer service! They have checked on me after I received the paint and answered all the questions I  had. They are wonderful and so, so sweet! I had not met them until Bella Rustica but feel like I have known them forever! Be sure and check them out and buy some paint! They have CeCe Caldwell’s chalk paint and Miss Mustard Seed’s milk paint! You will love them both! I promise!!

Well, more later. I have to get to work and earn my keep! It has been hectic around here since we have been back but I am so excited about how it all turned out and looking forward to the next show! Let me know what you think!!!

Be sure and stop by our website and check things out. We have changed up and added a few things! www.turningleafcrafts.com  and check us out on facebook. We are always posting new things on there! Thanks everyone!
